This trail through Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge offers a scenic hike through a variety of landscapes, including wooded, pastoral and coastal. Featured in the refuge are vegetaded islands, marshes, low-canopy woods, salt and freshwater ponds and open fields. The main highlight of the trail is Trustom Pond, which is the only saltwater coastal pond in Rhode Island that remains undeveloped. Be apprised that during the right season there are a lot of insects. Also, be aware of poison ivy.
